Who are we?

Our Mission

Youth PeaceBuilders is organizing five key activities to boost youth engagement in EU social and democratic life. These include three Youth Participation Events and two Youth Participation Mobilities. Events will be held in Warsaw, Thessaloniki, and Bucharest, focusing on youth debates for peace, co-creating EU peace-making policies, and a reconciliation simulation game. Additionally, Youth Participation Mobilities in Warsaw and Bucharest will involve workshops and training sessions for youth workers on creating advisory committees and engaging youth in peace-building efforts. These activities aim to foster dialogue, enhance youth policy-making skills, and inspire collaborative projects across Europe.

AIM: Young people, particularly those from marginalized backgrounds, are underrepresented in political structures and peace processes, often due to broader socio-economic challenges. Youth PeaceBuilders seeks to address this by enhancing coordinated, cross-sectoral communication at all levels, guided by the EU Youth Dialogue and Youth Goal #9, “Space and Participation for All.” The initiative promotes equal participation, encourages diverse voices, and strengthens youth citizenship through dynamic and innovative approaches. By involving youth in all stages of decision-making, Youth PeaceBuilders aims to make EU Youth Goals more visible, accountable, and impactful, fostering a vibrant European democracy.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Increase Youth Representation: Ensure that young people, particularly those from marginalized backgrounds, are actively included in political structures and peace processes at all levels.
  • Promote Equal Participation: Foster inclusive participation in peacebuilding and decision-making processes, ensuring that diverse youth voices are heard and considered.
  • Strengthen Citizenship Competences: Develop young people’s citizenship skills, sense of belonging, and ability to contribute to a vibrant European democracy.
  • Enhance Cross-Sectoral Communication: Improve coordinated communication among stakeholders at all levels to better involve youth in democratic life and peacebuilding efforts.
  • Implement Youth Goal #9: Apply and implement the targets of Youth Goal #9, “Space and Participation for All,” by creating and enhancing tools and spaces for youth participation across Europe.
  • Engage Youth in Policy Development: Involve young people in all stages of decision-making that affects them, from planning to implementation, ensuring that their input shapes EU policies, particularly in peacekeeping.
