Youth Participation Events:
The proposed activities aim to create a space where young people and decision-makers can discuss important issues on equal footing. Youth PeaceBuilders will foster idea-sharing among youth councils, leading to collaborative projects and encouraging active participation. Additionally, it offers a valuable learning experience for the young planners involved.
Event 1: Debate in Poland
Title: Youth Debate for Peace
A Youth Participation Event will take place in Warsaw, Poland, featuring a Youth Debate for Peace with 20 participants. The event aims to foster a culture of dialogue among young Europeans, empowering them to influence EU political and social leadership in line with EU Youth Dialogue priorities. The debate will focus on how young people can engage in EU decision-making related to peace-making and public agendas, amplify their voices from local to transnational levels to promote peace and solidarity, centralize and unify policies to support youth involvement in peacekeeping, and share holistic knowledge across youth networks to ensure their voices are heard in the decision-making process.
Event 2: Youth Lab in Greece
Title: Young PeaceBuilders Lab: Discussion with Decision Makers on how to co-create EU Peace Making Policy
A Youth Participation Event will take place in Thessaloniki, Greece, in form of a Young PeaceBuilders Lab to discuss with Decision Makers on how to co-create EU Peace Making Policy around the topic of the need to increase youth political participation. The total number of participants will be 20. Based on the need to increase youth political and active participation, as well as to amplifying its engagement with youth through participatory activities, which will be create a youth space for activity in Europe (#YouthGoal9), the topic of the discussion will be a more systematically solicit input from youth groups on how to spur youth participation in the europe’s active life.
Event 3: Simulation Game in Romania
Title: Reconciliation Simulation Game: Youth PeaceBuilders representing democratic institutions and replicating the roles of decision-makers in their home countries
A Youth Participation Event will take place in Bucharest, Romania, in form of a Reconciliation Simulation Game, where the “Youth PeaceBuilders” will play the role of Peace Ambassadors, representing democratic institutions and replicating the roles of decision-makers in their home countries around the topic of the need to be strengthened the youth’s public policy making skills. The total number of participants will be 20.
